League Rules
Format
- Doubles only (teams of 2 players)
- Best of 3 games per match
- Games to 11, win by 2
- 6-week seasons — #1 team at the end wins
MLP Format (4-Person Teams)
The MLP format runs 4-person teams head-to-head. Teams can be any gender combination — all men, all women, or mixed. Each matchup is up to 4 doubles games:
- Doubles Game 1
- Doubles Game 2
- Doubles Game 3
- Doubles Game 4 (only if needed)
First team to win 4 games wins the match. Submit the total game wins (e.g., 4–2) — not point scores.
- Courts: Reserve 2 courts if you can — both pairs play at the same time. 1 court works fine too; just play games one at a time while the other pair cheers.
- All standard challenge and forfeit rules apply to MLP matches.
Divisions & DUPR Caps
Divisions are defined by a combined DUPR cap. Both players' ratings must be under that cap to register. Women receive a 0.5 DUPR reduction applied to their rating for the cap calculation.
| Division | DUPR Cap | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Mixed 7 | 7.0 combined | Women's ratings reduced by 0.5 |
| Mixed 8 | 8.0 combined | Women's ratings reduced by 0.5 |
| Mixed 9 | 9.0 combined | Women's ratings reduced by 0.5 |
| Mixed 10 | 10.0 combined | Women's ratings reduced by 0.5 |
Example: Male (4.5) + Female (4.8 actual, counts as 4.3) = 8.8 combined — eligible for Mixed 9.
Rating System
- Every team starts at 1000 rating points
- Our custom Elo-style system (separate from DUPR)
- Beat a higher-rated team = big point gain
- Beat a lower-rated team = small point gain
- Lose to a lower-rated team = big point loss
- Challenging down is a bad deal — you risk a lot and gain very little
